Valued Destination——Gateway development between Changsha’s historic centre and its new financial district is a model for future developments. The focal point of this vast mixed-use project is a 330 metre tall landmark tower, set to be Changsha’s most recognizable civic symbol and its third tallest building. Rising alongside the landmark tower is a smaller, but geometrically similar, 240 metre tall tower. Centered on the east-west green belt axis and oriented towards the river, the   retail entry on the west forms the mouth of the canyon with the podium walls carved as if from the landscape by the erosive activity of a river or stream.

The important site considerations, such as the changing site grade elevation, connectivity to the subway, and views to the Xiang River, emulate the erosive activity of the river and offer varying internal and external spaces and experiences. Culminating at the end of this canyon, at the east end of the site are the two iconic towers that rise tall, parallel to each other. The towers frame the east-west green belt, which lies as a rift
between two mountain peaks with the Xiang River in the background and affording magnificent   skyline views. The four towers are linked by a retail podium that forms the new gateway at Xiang River. The podium includes a central event space that will host a variety of year-round activities and help make the centre a burgeoning hub for the city.
