This architecture bureau office is located on the 2nd floor of a mixed-use building in San Pedro Garza García, Mexico, considered the wealthiest municipality in Latin America. It covers a total area of 250m2, occupying the building’s whole footprint. This enabled the project to open its exteriors by incorporating perimetral curtain walls, illuminating the interiors with natural light and providing panoramic views of the city.

The design lab, a collaborative workstation, is the project’s nucleus. Its design had to be kept spacious and simple, providing an environment suitable for inspiration and creativity. Likewise, its materiality and design concept needed to respond directly to the firm’s branding, creating a warm industrial look, a balance between sophistication and practicality.

Separate workspaces surround the main design lab, such as a formal meeting room, a private office, a cozy living room next to the worktable and sample racks area. Other spaces include the kitchen and water closets.

Throughout the office, spaces are defined by their use. Thus, the architecture responds to these practical requirements, without abandoning a constant communion between them in terms on connectivity, space perception, forms, lighting and materiality.
