Clockwork Architecture + Design designed the space for Operation Breakthrough, a not-for-profit corporation providing a safe and nurturing environment for every child to learn, grow and play, located in Kansas City, Missouri.

Operation Breakthrough has expanded and grown over the last few years, and as a result needed a new facility to house additional classrooms and administrative operations.

The design team worked hand-in-hand with the OB staff, children and parents to design a new building that would fit all growing needs.

The new 68,000 SF building is equipped with ten new classrooms that include a smart lab, textile lab, maker space and a culinary-grade teaching kitchen. Also included in the new facility is a two story gym, with a running track and basketball court.

Operation Breakthrough not only serves at-risk children, but also provides classes for the parents and adults in the community. Five additional classrooms were designed to provide resume building courses and computer technology classes.
