The urban intervention Neomundo started with the idea of solving a road interchange to improve north-south connectivity, complementing the city’ s existing viaduct. However when the potential road system, public space and the built environment was assess; the project reconfigured its conception to formulate a collective structure of public space and services that generate high impact on the surrounding community and the city in general.

项目旨在促进居民的联系、改善生态环境、提高社区的安全性以及增强公共场所的存在感，从而实现其与城市发展的共赢。该空间应当作为公共戏水场所，还是一个纯粹的雕塑空间，这一问题也一度引起了公众的广泛讨论。
The projected result seeks a win-win urban development, the city’ s connectivity flows is improved, the ecological environment is enhanced, the safety increases, private property is valued and the presence of institutions increases. This project has caused much controversy about whether it should be used as a public water fountain or as a purely sculptural space, topic discussed in the article “Balneario público La ‘fuente’ de la discordia del intercambiador de Neomundo”.
